Stay connected for news and updates

Stanford senior guard David DeCastro was named a First Team All-America by a panel of 16 AP voters today. Fellow offensive lineman Jonathan Martin and quarterback Andrew Luck were named to the Second Team, while tight end Coby Fleener earned Third Team honors. Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III was named quarterback of the First Team.

Luck is the projected top pick in the 2012 NFL draft, while DeCastro and Martin are projected first round picks. The Cardinal offensive line allowed nine sacks this season, which tied for sixth-fewest in the nation.

Other Pac-12 players honored include USC's Matt Kalil, Robert Woods, and Matt Barkley, and Oregon's LaMichael James. Stanford's Fiesta Bowl opponent, Oklahoma State, had six players selected to one of the three teams, including wide receiver Justin Blackmon, a First Team selection.

Seven Alabama players and five LSU players were honored. LSU became the first school to have two cornerbacks -- Morris Claiborne and Heisman finalist Tyrann Matthieu -- named to the First Team.
