Pac-12 Basketball Schedule Released for Men & Women

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pac-10 has released the basketball schedule for next year today.  As in the past, the travel partner logistics and men's/women's mirror schedule remains (Stanford travels with Cal and plays team that Cal isn't playing, and if men are home, women are away).

A few notes about the schedule after the jump.

  • The Pac-12 begins conference play the final weekend in December, with every team, men's and women's, in the conference playing New Year's Eve (a Saturday).
  • Stanford basketball begins conference play against USC.  Men are home, women are in LA.
  • No word yet on whether the New Year's Eve game against the Bruins, for both the men and women, will be early afternoon, afternoon (~3PM), or evening games.  Note that a decision hasn't been made where the women will play considering that Pauley Pavilion is undergoing a year-long renovation beginning at the end of this April, especially important considering it is the first meeting of the top two conference finishers in 2010-11.
  • Men are spared a trip to Arizona, but the women must face against the Sun Devils in Tempe the first Thursday in February, a team on the rise.
  • On the flip side, the men have to travel to Seattle for their only game against the Huskies while the women get a rematch of the very close game from this past year in Maples that featured elbows, slaps, technicals, and more physical play than any Stanford fan had seen in a long time (Jan. 21).
  • The Utes make their first appearance in Maples Pavilion as a conference opponent Thursday, January 12th, with the Buffs two days later (it's a men's game).  That same night, the women will play against Utah in SLC for the second straight year, only this time as conference opponents.
  • The men travel to the Rockies the weekend of February 23rd, starting in Boulder, with the women hosting the Buffs.
  • The Cal games are Jan. 28 and Mar. 3 (season closer).  The men's schedule is away/home while the women will host the Golden Bears first.
  • The women close out at home against Utah Feb. 25.
