The Cardinal faces its first true test of the season against a Belmont squad that can light it up from beyond the arc.
After rolling to wins over USF, Cal-State Fullerton and Alcorn State, Stanford welcomes Belmont to the Farm in a game that is certain to test the Cardinal's perimeter defense.
The Bruins, who are in their first year as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, lead the nation in 3-point field goal percentage at 53%. On Tuesday, Belmont drained 14 of its 20 3-point attempts against Maryville (Mo.), a Division II school playing its fourth game in as many nights.
Belmont ranked ninth in 3-point field goals made per game last season, when it finished 27-8 and captured the Atlantic Sun title for the fourth time in five years. Opponents have shot 37.5% from beyond the arc against Stanford this season. This is the first of several good non-conference tests for the Cardinal.
