Stanford head coach David Shaw and his coaching staff landed their fifth commitment in the class of 2015 on Thursday, in offensive lineman Nick Wilson. The 6'2, 285-pound offensive guard fits right in with the Stanford lineman mold with excellent ability in run blocking and a great frame that could prove beneficial for the Cardinal's rushing attack.
Wilson committing to Stanford comes almost a month later after another offensive lineman gave his verbal pledge to Coach Shaw and the staff; 2015 offensive tackle Brian Chaffin committed on June 16. Wilson held offers from Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Miami, Missouri, N.C. State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Central Florida, Wake Forest, and was also receiving interest from LSU, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.
The new Stanford commit is a three-star in the 247Sports Composite, but is ranked as the 20th best offensive guard in the country, and the 31st best prospect overall from the state of Georgia. Last season for his high school, Wilson was named to first team all-state.
