Around SBN: Boise State Broncos Doomed By Kicking Woes Goal Again

"No signs or posters appeared on campus this week to encourage the Stanford football team. The Farm, as they call it, remains abuzz with talk of academic pursuits and social gatherings unrelated to the big game. Andrew Luck, the nation's most high profile college athlete, walks among his peers with little or no fanfare.

There's talk that the crowd Saturday for ESPN's "College GameDay" might actually set a record low for attendance, what with the early morning start and apathetic nature toward football of the Stanford students."

Hmmm

If I were the conspiracy type, I would almost think that ESPN is purposely trying to undermine Stanford’s program so that it can hype an LSU-Alabama rematch. But such an idea would be crazy!

yes, it would be crazy.

perhaps Stanfords long, long history of empty football stadiums has just a little bit more to do with the article.

but don’t worry, oregon fans will be there.

Stanfords long, long history of empty football stadiums

Duck fans sure do remember the history they want to (like last year) and not the history they dont (like two years ago) In case you havent noticed, Stanford stadium has been at full capacity several times this year.

guys, guys, relax. oregon has a long history of emtpty stadiums as well...

i wasn’t trash talking. i was just engaging in the silly conversation going on at the athletic site of one of my favorite universities.

I think the fans will be there… maybe not as many as Gameday is used to getting, given that Stanford has a relatively small undergrad population compared to the bigger state schools the Gameday crew usually frequents (and 5 AM is pretty early to wake up in the morning for a shot to get on TV), but people will come.

I don’t sense any conspiracy theories in this… but I hope the current generation of Stanford students proves them wrong anyway.

I'm trying to muster the resolve to go

I’m Class of ‘10, and could still pass as a undergraduate. But it’s so early.

On the other hand, Erin Andrews.

Stanford fans have shown up!!! Hat's off to y'all on the Farm.

i notice the oregon fans got bush leagued out of site. fair enough, condie IS condie.

Looking forward to the national spotlight on our two teams! Go Ducks!!! (but i’ll take that acceptance letter from stanford faster than you can say Go Cardinal!)

How can I be expected to wait over 4 more hours for this game? I am seriously dying with anticipation/anxiousness right now. Let’s go Card!
