Stanford Routs Pacific, 79-37

The Stanford men's basketball team bounced back from its loss to Syracuse at Madison Square Garden with its most lopsided win of the year, a 79-37 pasting of Pacific at Maples Pavilion.

Josh Owens and Chasson Randle led the Cardinal (6-1) with 14 points apiece. Dwight Powell added 9 points for Stanford, which led 38-23 at halftime, shot 53 percent from the field and outrebounded the Tigers 41-24. The Cardinal entered the game shooting only 62% from the free throw line, but finished an impressive 14-of-18 against Pacific. The Tigers didn't attempt a single free throw.

Stanford travels to Seattle for a date with the Seattle University Redhawks on Thursday before returning home for a showdown with NC State on Sunday. The Cardinal beat Seattle 77-66 at Maples Pavilion last season. NC State boasts wins over Princeton and Texas and the Wolfpack's only loss was to then-No. 20 Vanderbilt.
