Ed Reynolds will miss the first half Saturday. Henry Anderson is out for six weeks. And now David Yankey is out for Saturday's game against Washington State.
Yankey, the Cardinal's All-American offensive lineman, is out due to a family issue, and sophomore Josh Garnett will start in his place.
Garnett has played as one of Stanford's sixth or seventh linemen during his career, but now the Puyallup native will get his chance to start.
Yankey's absence, explained in three tweets:
Something that might only interest me: #Stanford OL Josh Garnett is 1 of 3 players scheduled to participate in the program's weekly presser.

David Yankey will not play vs. WSU. He is home for a family situation and Josh Garnett will start in his home state #gostanford

Obviously, there are more important things than football - and we can only hope for the best for Yankey and his family - but his absence will be felt this weekend in Seattle.
