Record: 25-9, 14-4 Big 12, Lost in Big 12 tournament Semifinals
Last game: Beat Eastern Kentucky, 80-69
Best wins: vs Duke, vs Iowa State (twice), vs Oklahoma State
Worst losses: at Colorado, at West Virginia
Best player: Andrew Wiggins. You may have heard of this guy. He's averaged 28 points per game in the Jayhawks' last 4 games, and he's showcased freakish talent and athleticism all season long. Anthony Brown and Josh Huestis will most likely have to combine to keep him in check - which will be a tall order.
Missing piece: Joel Embiid. The 7-footer has been a force in the middle for the Jayhawks - he's even been touted as the possible #1 overall pick in the NBA draft - but he won't even play against the Cardinal due to a lingering back issue. Kansas doesn't necessarily need him to overcome Stanford, given than backup forward Jamari Traylor had 17 and 14 against EKU, but his absence does affect the Jayhawks on both sides of the floor.
Coach: Bill Self. Taken the Jayhawks to the NCAA tournament since 2003-04, including a national title win over Memphis in 2008.
Recent NCAA tournament results: Bounced in the Sweet 16 a year ago by Michigan, lost in the National Championship game to Anthony Davis and Kentucky two seasons ago.
History vs Stanford: Kansas holds an 8-2 all-time record vs Stanford. Last played the Cardinal in 2003, a 64-58 Card victory
