Stanford head coach David Shaw and his coaching staff have landed their seventh commitment for the class of 2015. '15 wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside gave his commitment via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, spurning Wake Forest, Michigan State, Georgia Tech and Maryland, all of which were in the running up to the point of his decision.
The 6'3, 200-pound wide receiver is a three-star under the 247Sports Composite and is ranked as the 69th best receiver in the country, in addition to being the 12th best prospect at any position from the state of South Carolina. Arcega-Whiteside held offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Navy, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Central Florida, Virginia, and Wake Forest, among others. The newest commit also was receiving interest from Clemson, Duke, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Tennessee but was not yet offered by those schools.
Blessed to officially be committed to Stanford University!! #GoCard #NerdGang #Cali ♦️

This commitment seems to have been coming a while now for coach Shaw as the 247Sports Crystal Ball had the Cardinal (94 percent of the vote) favored over Wake Forest (six percent) despite rumors of the Demon Deacons leading for the receiver. Arcega-Whiteside joins '15 fullback Reagan Williams as members that have committed to Stanford this week.
