You might remember former tackle Jonathan Martin decided to walk away from the game this offseason. We previously reported the story here on Rule of Tree.
The college star became the central figure during the 2013 Miami Dolphins bullying scandal involving Richie Incognito. Early this morning, Martin took to Twitter and wrote this:
Gonna miss football... Was always my dream to play in the NFL. Proud to say I did it, the right way, even if for not as long as I wanted
— Jonathan A. Martin (@J_Martin71) August 10, 2015
Eight minutes later, he posted a tweet that's now been deleted. It read:
"But in the end, football was just a job, albeit a fun and well-paying one. Being in a wheelchair at 50 isn't worth any amount of money.
During his brief career, Martin spent time playing for the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, and was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers after being released by San Francisco.
During his farewell speech, he wanted to take some time to thank his former teammates:
Nothin but love for my Panthers & 49ers teammates

Well, not all of them I guess....
