David Shaw Press Conference: Stanford excited to play Oregon

On Tuesday Stanford football coach David Shaw held his normal weekly press conference and he is encouraged by the offensive line play from the last two games. The line is still struggling through so many injuries, but in the last two weeks they have progressed and there is a lot to look forward to from that group.

The records for both Stanford and Oregon have been disappointing. The upcoming game will not decide the Pac-12 North, nor have any immediate playoff implications. Nevertheless, Stanford is still fired up to head north and take on the Oregon Ducks on Saturday. Stanford and Oregon is still a great rivalry, and Coach Shaw also said that these are two proud programs that will be excited to play.

Not surprisingly David Shaw is looking specifically for improvement and consistency. In particular Shaw wants to see continued improvement from his quarterback Keller Chryst. Shaw said earlier that Chryst is talented but just needs more playing experience. Therefore with each game you would expect Chryst to get better. Shaw also said that he is looking for more consistently good play from his team in general not just from his quarterback or offensive line.

Injury Report:

Francis Owusu is Questionable. Casey Tucker and Brandon Fanaika are doubtful for Saturday. Owusu, Tucker, and Fanaika all left the Oregon State game last Saturday. Daniel Marx is probably for Saturday.
