Five teams from the Pac-12 are in the top 25 of the second round of the College Football Playoff Committee rankings. As always it is important to remember that these rankings are about transparency, and not reflective of who will actually end up in the playoff. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, and Michigan Wolverines once again held the top 3 spots in the second playoff committee rankings. Washington jumped into the 4th spot following the Texas A&M loss and the Huskies drubbing of Cal.

The USC Trojans, however, wer the biggest riser of the week going from unranked all the way to number 20 in the rankings. The Colorado Buffaloes came in at 12th, Utah Utes at 15th, and the Washington State Cougars came in at number 23. The SEC, Pac-12, ACC, and Big Ten all have 5 teams each in this week’s rankings. The Big-12 has 3 teams, with Boise State and Western Michigan rounding out the top 25.
