Johnny Dawkins Postgame News Conference at Utah:

From "Setback in Salt Lake City" at GoStanford.com and the Stanford Athletic Department:

"Utah (17-5, 6-3) shot 70.8 percent in the first half to take a 48-39 lead into the break. The Cardinal trailed by as many as 13 in the first half (45-32), before cutting away at the Ute's advantage over the final two minutes of the first period.

Stanford (11-9, 3-5) continued to chip away at Utah's lead in the early stages of the second half and got within eight points (62-54) with 10:54 remaining on a Pickens free throw.

The Utes, however, responded with 13 of the next 19 points to surge out to a 17-point advantage (75-58) with 6:50 to play and held on for the double-digit win."

Stanford men's basketball strives to improve every day:

From our friends at Block U "Runnin' Utes Blow Past Stanford, 96-74":

"Utah's defense locked down in the second half, as they held Stanford to just 30% shooting, bringing them down to 40% on the game. Both the coaches and players said in the post game that all they needed was a couple of defensive stops to blow the game open, and that's what we saw.

The past two weeks, we've seen the Utah team we've all thought we would see this season, so it's nice to see them rounding into form. After starting 0-2 in league, the Utes are now 6-3, and are just a loss behind for 1st place in the conference."
