Stanford football is almost back! The Cardinal kicks off against the Kansas State Wildcats in just a few short days. Therefore, Rule of Tree is looking for Stanford fanatics, passionate sports writers, content creators, and digital marketers to join our team to help cover all of the action.

We are a Stanford sports blog with a national audience and part of the SB nation network. Contributors to the network have gone on to work for the LA Times, ESPN, SI.com, Grantland, Rivals, 247sports, Scout, SB Nation (national), Comcast sports, and many more companies.

In this opportunity (or internship if you can get the school credit for it) we will help you cultivate the tools and skills necessary to launch your career, including but not limited to:

-Honing and perfecting your writing skills

-Helping you understand how to captivate a digital audience

-Teaching you the basics of growing your social media audience

-Providing opportunities to create other forms of digital content such as podcasts

-Building your personal brand

We are looking for people who enjoy writing, creating podcasts, videos, social media, and all sorts of content. We are also looking for someone willing to learn and improve, can be self-motivated even while working remotely and are passionate and dedicated to contributing regularly (you will get out of this what you put in).

Rule of Tree is a group of passionate sports fans dedicated to covering the school and sports we love. That is why we are here. You do not have to be a die hard member of Nerd Nation, however, to join. If you just want to improve your skills, we will gladly work with you to help you get the absolute most personally and professionally out of this position while providing exposure to a national audience and cultivating your personal brand.

In other words, we will invest in you personally and help you get to where you ultimately want to go. In fact this posting is up because the person we are replacing just “turned pro” so to speak and took a paying gig with another publication.

You can find out more about the SB Nation Network here.
