UCLA Bruins defeat Stanford with big game from Lonzo Ball

From Charlie Foy’s recap at Rule of Tree:

“Stanford beat UCLA 45-41...in the second half; unfortunately, their first half put themselves into a deep hole. Against UCLA, I was pleasantly surprised by how Stanford played. UCLA is a legit team that could potentially win in March, and I was worried Stanford would be embarrassed. Early in the game, Lonzo Ball and UCLA went up big, and Stanford looked like they had a long game ahead. Michael Humphrey and Robert Cartwright would not let that happen; both players stepped up.”

UCLA Guard Lonzo Ball Skies For Alley-Oop Dunk

From: “Bruins Beat Cardinal 89-75, But Doubts Continue to Linger” at Bruins Nation:

“For the third game in a row, UCLA found itself needing to buckle-down in the second half of a blowout, as a combination of better shooting and weak effort from the Bruins allowed Stanford to close an 18-point halftime lead. And, while UCLA eventually pulled away to a comfortable lead, this game ended up doing nothing to aleviete any fears Bruin fans may have developed over the past few games.”
