Aside from a Pac-12 Conference Title earned by the Men’s Cross-Country team, Grant Fisher was named Athlete of the Year, along with Head Coach Chris Miltenberg being named Coach of the Year. Fisher’s end of race kick earned him the individual gold at the conference meet, passing Colorado’s Joe Klecker at the line to win by three seconds en route to a final 8km time of 23:44.9s, improving on his runner-up finish from the previous year. To cap things off for Stanford’s star junior, he was also named national runner of the week by USTFCCCA.

Coach Miltenberg is a first-time recipient of this conference honor, becoming Stanford’s 12th-ever honoree. Leading his athletes to victory, he put an end to Colorado’s six-year hold on the Pac-12 title, placing three of his runners in the top four. Amid his sixth season at the helm, he has taken the Cardinal men to the collegiate podium in each of the past three seasons at the NCAA Championships. He was already a two-time West Region Cross Country Coach of the Year, and now has one more trophy to add to the shelf.

Also recognized were the respective Pac-12 First Team members from both the men’s and women’s squads. Steven Fahy and Alex Ostberg joined Fisher as male honorees, and Vanessa Fraser and Fiona O’Keeffe received recognition on the women’s side.

Up next for the Cardinal will be the NCAA West Regional Championships on November 10th in Seattle, followed by the storied NCAA Championships, which will be hosted by Louisville this year.
