Stanford scored quick on its Big Game opening drive as it took the lead 3-0 on a Jet Toner 42-yard field goal. With the field goal, Toner tied John Hopkins for second-most made field goals (19) in a single season. He’s also only three made field goals away from tying Conrad Ukropina’s school record.
The field goal came courtesy of a 33-yard catch by—who else?—JJ Arcega-Whiteside. Arcega-Whiteside has made a catch of at least 20 yards in each of the last six games:
Made possible by another huge JJ Arcega-Whiteside catch. @jjarcega_22 has a 20+ yard catch in 8 of the 9 games he has played this season (6 in a row).#GoStanford pic.twitter.com/T6WhrcCPck
