Stanford RB Bryce Love will Play tonight against Notre Dame:
Bryce Love has been dealing with ankle injuries quite a bit this season. Initially injuring it against Oregon in week 7 and then missing the Oregon State game, as well as dealing with it in Big Game last week. Love was questionable for this game but he will play against the Irish. Many wonder about whether it may be wise to let him play in a game that does not have much impact with a potential Pac-12 Championship game next week. This may also be Love’s last time playing at Stanford Stadium.
Pac-12 Championship a possibility for Stanford but not in their hands:
The Stanford Cardinal are set to host the fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Earlier losses to USC and Washington State put a dent in Stanford’s hopes of winning the Pac-12 North but a huge win against the Washington Huskies two weeks ago opened the door back open for Stanford who then closed out their conference schedule with a win in Big Game. There is nothing else Stanford can do to change their Pac-12 record. The Cardinal’s loss to Washington State is still standing in the way of winning the Pac-12 North Division.
As a result Stanford needs help from the Huskies tonight in the Apple Cup. The Huskies have had the Cougars number in recent years and Washington State has not played well on the road. The Apple Cup is a heated rivalry which can lead to all sorts of craziness. The bottom line is if Washington State wins tonight they win the division. If Washington wins tonight, Stanford will get a rematch with the USC Trojans in the Pac-12 Conference Championship game.
