JJ Arcega-Whiteside Sets Up Stanford for FG with 40-Yard Gain

In the closing seconds of the half, KJ Costello completed a 40-yard pass to JJ Arcega-Whiteside that put Stanford in field goal range. Three plays later, Jet Toner booted it between the uprights as Stanford goes into the half with the lead 24-17:

The 40-yard throw was Costello’s longest of his career thus far; his previous high was 31 yards, also in this same game.

Arcega-Whiteside may not return for the second half. After the catch, he stayed down and, although he eventually got off the field on his own power, he was taken to the locker room following the play.
