Stanford took home the men’s and women’s Capital One Cup trophies and a combined $400,000 in scholarships during the Utah game Saturday.
The Capital One Cup is awarded annually to the best men’s and women’s Division I athletics programs for their cumulative on-field performance across multiple sports. Stanford is the first-ever university to secure a dual win in the same season. The Stanford women repeat as Cup champions and have won five total, while the men claimed their second Cup.
After winning a National Championship in both men’s and women’s soccer to start the fall, the Stanford women racked up two more championships in swimming and diving, as well as tennis. With 17 combined top-10 finishes, the Cardinal earned an impressive 175 points for the women and 95 points for the men.
