2019 Stanford Football Schedule Released

Let the tailgate planning begin.

NCAA Football: Stanford at California D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports

The Stanford Cardinal have released the schedule for the 2019 season and it’s nothing short of exciting. The Cardinal are looking to go full steam ahead of is sure to be one of the toughest schedules in the country for next year. The home slate includes seven games.

New this year to scheduling in college football are the 14—not 13—total weeks, with two bye weeks available. Stanford’s bye weeks fall on Oct. 7 and Nov. 2.

The Cardinal open up on Aug. 31 at home, against this year’s Big Ten runner-up, the Northwestern Wildcats. The Cardinal will look to avenge the loss from the Wildcats in 2015. One could argue that Stanford’s playoff dreams were crushed from the start that year when the Cardinal traveled to Chicago and fell to the Wildcats in a game that started 11 a.m. local time, 16-6. The Wildcats are headed to the Holiday Bowl to play Pac-12 opponent Utah on December 31st.

Circle your calendar for the game at the University of Central Florida on Sept. 14. The Knights are in the controversial conversation of whether an almost two-season undefeated, non-power 5 conference team, is worthy of being in the College Football Playoff. The Cardinal will have their hands full no question and a win over the Knights would be undoubtedly, a quality one. The Knights take on LSU in the Fiesta Bowl on New Years Day.

Other notable games this year include at home against Oregon, Washington, Cal and Notre Dame. Check out the full slate of games below and start marking your calendars.
