There was no Bryce Love or KJ Costello but the offense did just fine as they won the Cardinal and White Spring Game.
Without a proven option at quarterback, the Cardinal initially decided to focus on the run game. RB Cameron Scarlett chewed away at the defense on the first drive before finally making a 22-yard scamper to the end zone. The senior from Portland ultimately finished the game with 112 yards on the ground.
QB Jack Richardson was initially inaccurate and looked uncomfortable in the pocket but the former walk-on soothed his nerves enough to throw 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in the Spring Game. He threw a dime to WR Connor Weddington and his second went to redshirt freshman RB Houston Heimuli. He ultimately went 21 of 30, 178 yards. He threw an interception to end the game which also caused a scuffle. At the end of game, coach David Shaw awarded Jack Richardson a scholarship.
Defense is no problem for @ConnorWedington .

His impressive catch and TD for @StanfordFBall is the @OpusBank #12Best Moment of the Game. pic.twitter.com/OWUnvmSn2N
OT Foster Sarrell saw some time at right tackle. He may see time at the open spot at left guard, but the former 5* recruit seems like a natural fit at right tackle.
The defense lost but they looked fine.
The Cardinal attempt to replenish a secondary that lost stars S Justin Reid and CB Quenton Meeks to the NFL Draft. Redshirt freshman CB Paulson Adebo and Redshirt sophomore CB Treyjohn Butler made plays in the game. DT Jovan Swann sniffed out a running play and got a tackle behind the line.
