Robert Cartwright will graduate this June and transfer to UC-Irvine, per Jon Rothstein. A fifth year was granted due to a broken arm suffered during his sophomore season. Under NCAA rules, he will be eligible immediately.
Cartwright played in 94 career games, 19 of which he started at the point. For his career he averaged 4.3 points and 2.1 assists. In all likelihood he was due for a minutes reduction with the additions of Bryce Wills and Cormac Ryan, return of Marcus Sheffield, and continued emergence of Daejon Davis and Isaac White.
Robert will get his degree in Science, Technology and Society. He is a native of Pasadena, some 50 miles from the Irvine campus. His departure opens up room for the signing of Lukas Kišūnas.
