Stanford has received the commitment of four-star Tyrell Terry. The 6’1” Minnesotan is the nation’s seventh best point guard prospect, per 247.

Terry has seemed a likely commit since he was offered in February. He plays his prep ball at De La Salle in Minneapolis, the same school that produced Reid Travis. In recent months, he has steadily climbed in the recruiting rankings, in part due to continued physical maturation.
He was offered by over a dozen schools, including Indiana, Xavier, and Butler. His game is tremendously smooth across the board; his shooting touch is soft, his handles are tight, his passing is true, and he glides around the court. Terry’s not afraid to mix it up on the defensive end either, which is the surest way to earn minutes under Jerod Haase.
Terry is the first commit in Stanford’s 2019 class. There is just one more scholarship available, barring any unexpected departures. It seems likely to go to a frontcourt player, given the current roster makeup.
