Throughout the entire off-season, it seemed like all anybody could ever talk about was how good the Stanford offense—and how lousy the Stanford defense—would be. As it turned out, it was the Stanford defense who drew first blood against SDSU.

This was the first Stanford safety since 2016 vs. Colorado, when a safety was forced by none other than today’s honorary captain, Solomon Thomas! Stanford now trails SDSU, 7-2.
