4* PF Jaiden Delaire has committed to Stanford

NCAA Basketball: Pac-12 Conference Tournament - Stanford vs UCLA Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Jaiden Delaire announced via Twitter that he has committed to play basketball at Stanford. He will re-classify from ‘19 and enroll at Stanford for this season.

Delaire is ranked as the 75th best prospect in America, according to 247. Like the other four members of the Cardinal’s 2018 class, he plays his prep ball in the northeast, at The Loomis Chaffee School in CT. This season his school faced fellow commit Cormac Ryan’s Milton Academy.

The skilled PF was seen as a UCONN lean, but Stanford had a scholarship open up late with the transfer of Reid Travis. Delaire stands at 6’8”, and is a long, fluid athlete who can handle the ball and shoot from range. He is a great piece in Haase’s increasingly positionless system. In a relatively thin and inexperienced Stanford front court, Delaire will push for minutes from day one.

The class of ‘18 will likely be Haase’s second consecutive top 25 class, as Delaire joins guards Cormac Ryan and Bryce Wills, as well as big men Lukas Kišūnas and Keenan Fitzmorris. His commitment brings the Cardinal to the maximum 13 scholarship players.
