2020 K Joshua Karty commits to Stanford

The Cardinal get a top kicking prospect out of North Carolina.

Shortly after he was offered, junior Joshua Karty committed to the Cardinal explaining that Stanford was the “school that has been my dream ever since I can remember!” He committed to Stanford over Georgia and in-state North Carolina.

He is an excellent kicker whose longest field goal this past season was 52 yards. He kicked for 12/16 (75%) on field goals with 12/13 fields inside 53 yards (92%). He is 52/53 for PATs. He won at kicking competition at Kohl’s kicking camps with a 70 yard field goal.

He will join scholarship player Jet Toner who will be a redshirt Junior this coming season as well as walk-on and current redshirt sophomore Collin Riccitelli. It bodes well for the Cardinal’s depth at kickers as Jet Toner was sorely missed this season with an injury. Collin Riccitelli struggled in relief of Jet Toner, noticeably missing a much needed PAT in the Washington game.

In addition to excellent athletes, the Western Alamance High Schooler has excellent academics. The North Carolinan is a stellar student boasting a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.56 GPA.
