Former Stanford kicker Collin Riccitelli has announced his transfer to Rice as he joins two other former Stanford players to take their talents south to Texas over the past two offseasons.

Riccitelli, who didn’t see action this past fall, will be a redshirt senior this fall and immediately eligible as a grad-transfer.

This should be no surprise that the Stanford-to-Rice pipeline has developed since former Offensive Coordinator Mike Bloomgren was announced the head coach at Rice prior to the 2018 season. Riccitelli joins the likes of Brian Chaffin and Reagan Williams as former Cardinal who became Owls.

According to reports, Riccitelli will be the odds-on favorite to win the job for the 2020 season after the team had an up-and-down year with kickers in 2019. The Owls saw a 1-game improvement in Year 2 under Bloomgren and his securing of positions across the team has been clear this past offseason.

Jet Toner clearly wasn’t giving up his position as Stanford’s lead kicker as he’s returning for his fifth year after he was true on all but one of his kick attempts in 2018 and was 12-of-16 on field goals in seven games last year.

We wish you well, Collin!
