The Stanford Cardinal recruiting class of 2021 may not be off to as hot of a summer as other Pac-12 programs but those players that have already committed are certainly worthy of acclaim. One of those players is four-star safety prospect Josh Moore from Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia.
He’s a four-star from the fine folks at 247Sports and a three-star on their composite ratings. He stands as the 24th-best safety in the country and a top-20 player from the state of Georgia, according to 247. He had well over 30 scholarship offers and committed to Stanford back in May.
His evaluation from 247Sports went as follows:
Safety prospect on the bigger end with long arms and the frame to bulk up further and provide some position flexibility. Plays with burst and range. Shows ball skills down the field. Closes on runners in space in a tackling position. Comfortable as a single-high safety breaking downhill in the intermediate pass game. Quality wide receiver that shows good hands and catch-and-run athleticism. Athletic movements suggest versatility. Speed may limit his ability in man coverage. Power Five impact starter that has some NFL Draft upside that could land a few different positions.
And, while sports are returning to voluntary activities nationwide, we can still take a look at the future of the Cardinal defensive backfield with a look at Moore’s high school highlights.
We’ve said it once, we’ll say it again: Welcome to The Farm, Josh! We’re happy to have you!
