Major League Baseball is back! That’s right — professional team sports are making their return to North America with the first of the Big Four coming back tomorrow night. The New York Yankees vs the Washington Nationals headline the Thursday night opening slate — and it brought to mind the fact that there are currently nine Stanford Cardinal alum on MLB rosters and another in the active organization.

Alex Blandino will be in the infield for the Cincinnati Reds
Jason Castro will be behind home plate for the Los Angeles Angels
Tommy Edman will be on the field for the St. Louis Cardinals
Nico Hoerner should be at shortstop for the Chicago Cubs
Jed Lowrie will once again be in the infield with the New York Mets
Stephen Piscotty will take the outfield for the Oakland Athletics
Cal Quantrill should take the mound for the San Diego Padres
Austin Slater will be in the outfield for the San Francisco Giants
And, of course, Drew Jackson will be in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization

So, with that in mind, besides your Stanford Cardinal alum in the pros, what are you most looking forward to with baseball’s return?
