Which Stanford 2021 commits are playing football this fall?

The 2020 Pac-12 season has been cancelled. And at the very least, will be played in 2021, potentially.

High school sports have been affected as well by the coronavirus pandemic, and some states have pushed their 2020 fall sports seasons to 2021 as well, while some others haven’t.

We’re tracking down which of the Stanford Cardinal class of 2021 athletes are playing their high school senior seasons this fall and which are having their seasons moved to the winter/spring seasons.

3-star QB Ari Patu — Folsom High School, Folsom, CA

Folsom plays within the Sac-Joaquin Section in California, and practices have been moved to start date of December 14, with games starting as early as January 7-8, 2021.

3-star S Josh Moore — Marist School, Atlanta, GA

The Georgia High School Association allowed conditioning to start on July 27 with the first date of scheduled games starting on September 4. Moore and Marist School are scheduled to play their first game on Friday, September 11 against Blessed Trinity.

3-star TE Shield Taylor — Alexandria High School, Alexandria, LA

Taylor and the Alexandria Trojans are scheduled to play their first game on Friday, September 4 against Ferriday. Taylor and his team are ranked as the 16th-best team in the state of Louisiana.

3-star CB Jimmy Wyrick — South Oak Cliff High School, Dallas, TX

Wyrick plays within the 5A-2 Region II 6 District in Texas, and they’re scheduled to kick off their season on September 11, against Spruce High School.

3-star S Mitch Leigber — Laguna Hills High School, Laguna Hills, CA

Leigber and Laguna Hills are part of the Sea View League in the CIF-Southern Section. They’re scheduled to start practice on December 14, and their season is scheduled to start on January 8.

3-star S Caleb Ellis — Independence High School, Frisco, TX

The Coyotes, and Ellis, are scheduled to open their season this Friday night, August 27 against Heritage High School. Ellis and Independence are part of the 5A-1 Region II 5 District in Texas.

Punter Connor Weselman — Westminster School, Atlanta, GA

Georgia allowed conditioning last month and games are starting early September. Weselman and Westminster are scheduled to kick their season off with a scrimmage against St. Pius X on Friday night, August 27. They play St. Pius X in a regular season game in two weeks time, but open their regular season against Lovett on September 4.
