Brendon Barrow has committed to the Stanford Cardinal, giving head coach David Shaw and Co. their second skillplayer commitment for the class of 2021.
Barrow is an all-purpose running back from Clearwater Academy International in Clearwater, Florida. He originally hails from Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada where he played at Clarkson North High School prior to his junior season in Florida.
Barrow was a highly sought after back for this class, spotting as many as 32 total scholarship offers. He’s ranked as the nation’s 18th-best all-purpose back for this class and as the 149th-best player in the State of Florida.
An extremely quick back, he has verified results in the 40-yard dash at 4.48 seconds and in the shuttle at 4.02 seconds. At 5’7.5, 175 pounds, he’s shifty and an elusive back with strong measurables for his size.
With Barrow at the helm, CAI is a top-20 program in the state of Florida and are set to kick off their 2020 season in on September 11.
As a junior in 2019, Barrow ran the ball just 81 times for a whopping 1,007 yards and 16 touchdowns. That’s an incredible average of 12.43 yards per carry. And a touchdown on every five touches out of the backfield.
It didn’t take long for the fellow Cardinal members of the class of 2021 to react to his commitment.
It is said that Barrow chose Stanford over Duke, Northwestern among the many others he held offers from.
Congratulations, Brendon! Welcome to the Cardinal Family!
