I admire the kid's intent...

But I do wonder, if he makes it with the minimum (or around there) SAT score of 1500 or 1600, whatever it is, will he be able to maintain the grades needed to continue? Stanford students median score is over 2000 if I am not mistaken.

I wouldn't worry

Despite having a solid program, football isn’t worshipped on campus. If anything entrepreneurship is. Not only would he have a school environment/culture focused on academics, he’d have the additional support from the athletics program (rigid scheduling, tutoring, and most other things taken care of financially [food, clothing]). If he’s this determined to get in, i’d suspect he’d have the determination to stay in good academic standing given all the help he’d have around him — especially considering the entire football team is doing the same (see Stanford’s GSR for football players).

Yeah, that is about what I figured.

Just wondering aloud. I hope the best for the kid where ever he lands. At least he and his family is going about it the right way.
