Stanford Basketball lacks three-point defense

In this video I take a quick look at Stanford’s recent struggles. When I reviewed the stats, what stood out was the amount of three-point shots that Stanford’s opponents were taking and ultimately making. The Cardinal have given up exactly 50 percent shooting over the past six games, excluding the Cal State Eastbay game. Needless to say, this is a huge problem. Take a look at my breakdown of Stanford’s issues...

**Editor’s note - We could use some help covering Stanford Men’s and Women’s Basketball.**

From: “Previewing Stanford Men’s Basketball Trip to Los Angeles

“Hot shooters Dorian Pickens and Marcus Sheffield will not only have to knock down shots from deep but also defend well. Furthermore, Michael Humphrey might be the difference maker in this game. Last year, he put up big points in some games, and if he can knock down mid range jumpers, Stanford should play USC closely.”

Excellent analysis

Early in the season both the offense and defense looked much improved from last season’s horror show.

Lately it seems like they’ve fallen back into some old bad habits, although the regression hasn’t been 100%.

Maybe the new coaching staff can figure out this year what it’ll take to get this team back on track in the future. Unfortunately, it appears that turning the ship of Stanford MBB may take longer than some of us had hoped.
