David Shaw announced today that Bryce Love will miss Saturday’s game against UC Davis.
Love was visibly shaken up in the 4th quarter of Saturday’s game, where he took a hard hit from a pair of USC defenders and slammed to the turf.
See the play here, at the 6:09 mark:
The star running back joins a host of offensive players on the sideline:
Wedington was injured against San Diego State, while Sarell left Saturday’s game against USC and returned to the sideline on crutches.
Starting center Jesse Burkett will return to action for the Cardinal this week though.

Don't take UC Davis lightly.....
….actually, you probably can. Good chance for the other RBs to show why they were highly rated recruits.

Disappointing. This is what happens when running 20+ times for 1-2 yards (or less) to get 1 40+ run. How often Does Stanford ever run out of a 2 back set other than with the bulldozer FB? Would love to see Scarlett or Speights on the field at the same time as Love, working in some motion, along with two TEs to keep it interesting for DCs. Repeatedly ramming Bryce into the teeth of defenses while the OL gets it together doesn’t seem to be a way to optimize 20’s talents, or health.
