KZ Okpala staying in NBA draft

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

Per multiple sources, KZ Okpala is keeping his name in June’s NBA draft, forgoing his final two years of eligibility.

KZ had a stellar sophomore season, earning a First Team All Conference selection and vaulting his way up the mock draft boards. There’s a very real chance he hears his name called in the first round.

His outside shooting numbers improved drastically this season, and he adapted well to leading the offense. He’s still seen as a work in progress, but between his combine numbers and the flashes he showed this year, his stock is fairly high. He is the first player to leave Stanford after just two seasons since Brook and Robin Lopez, in 2008.

His departure means Stanford has one available scholarship. It might be difficult to fill it this late in the game, and they may just prefer to save it for the strong 2020 high school class. In that scenario, James Keefe would likely be put on scholarship.

Tough loss – reid did a grad transfer last year and now an early departure of their best player this year. there is talent on the roster, but if haase doesnt get Stanford back into some form of contention next year, that will be 4 years with nary a sniff of the tournament – seat is warming up.

Is he the first to leave without a degree since jeremy green?

Greetings

We hope to see many of you in StarkVegas this weekend for the Miss. State – Stanford Super Regional. You will be treated with true southern hospitality and the best college baseball environment period. Miss. State holds the top 10 largest crowds for on-campus college baseball. The old Dudy-Noble was awesome but the new stadium is beyond imagination. If you should stroll out to the Left-Field Lounge all the people grilling out there will feed you and welcome conservation.

The OLD Dudy-Noble and the atmosphere it and the new give to anyone who comes her way. This is a short story composed by the famous author John Grisham a Miss. State alumnus who is always at "The Dude" during post-season. Yes it is true the visiting team is readily fed if they come to the fence or the lounge. Many times the outfielders are handed food before they run to their dugout after playing in the field. They will come up the fence and place an order to get when they go in. It is part of the hospitality at "The Dude" and StarkVegas.
