Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament: Stanford vs. UCLA Open Thread

Stanford's "Sister Sister Act" of Chiney and Nneka Ogwumike combined for 53 points in yesterday's 100-71 win against Arizona, carrying the No. 2 Cardinal into today's Pac-10 tournament final against second-seeded UCLA.

Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year Ify Ibekwe picked up two quick fouls and was limited to 24 minutes in yesterday's game, but the All-Pac-10 Defensive Team couldn't have slowed the Cardinal, and not only because Chiney Ogwumike happens to be on it. Kayla Pedersen, who was named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year, added 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Sarah Boothe contributed 12 points.

UCLA defeated Cal in Friday's other semifinal to give the Bruins another crack at Stanford, which is seeking its fifth consecutive Pac-10 tournament title. The Cardinal dominated UCLA at Maples Pavilion and scored a 67-53 win in Los Angeles. The Bruins should have a good number of fans at Staples Center, but by all accounts Stanford is well represented at the tournament as well.

Today's game tips off at 11:30 a.m. PST and is being broadcast on Fox Sports Net. You can also listen live on KZSU.
