Rule of Tree travels to Pittsburgh

An intrepid SB Nation blogger fins his way to unfamiliar territory.

Justin K. Aller

Howdy, Stanford fans. My name is Pete Volk -- I'm the co-manager of Testudo Times and I'm also a college football writer here at good ol' SB Nation. I've had the incredible opportunity to represent Rule of Tree this weekend, via Hampton Inn, by travelling to Pittsburgh for the Panthers' game against Miami -- and just to take in the general experience of a different college town.

Quickly, my own background -- I grew up in California (Southern, sorry), before eventually landing in Maryland. I graduated from the University of Maryland, so this will be a conference rival situation (at least for this year).

It's Thursday, and I've just arrived at my Hampton Inn room -- a king suite, no less.

Some quick observations from Pittsburgh: the accent is stronger than expected -- I heard a "yinz" as soon as I got on the plane. More importantly? The bus drivers will pick you up while the bus is still moving. It's the closest I've ever been to being in Speed.

Here's a look at some of the stuff I'll try and tackle this weekend, via Cardiac Hill's Jim Hammett.

Hampton Inn has really given us a phenomenal opportunity here, so go ahead and book your next trip here. You can find their Facebook page here, their Twitter page here and their Instagram account here.
