Four-star safety Quenton Meeks picks Stanford

The Cardinal adds another stellar defensive back on signing day

Stanford wrapped up signing day with another victory on the recruiting trail signing day by securing the commitment of Quenton Meeks, a 4-star safety from San Diego.

Meeks picked Stanford from a final three that included Cal and Vanderbilt. Rivals ranks Meeks as the nation's 23nd-best safety and the 31st-best player in the state of California.

Stanford's 2015 recruiting class was all but set in stone ahead of today, but the additions of Meeks and fellow safety Justin Reid, the younger brother of 49ers safety Eric Reid.

David Shaw, Lance Anderson and Duane Akina can now claim defensive backfield as the premier asset of the 2015 recruiting class, as Meeks joins four-stars Frank Buncom IV and Ben Edwards as well as 3-star Reid.
