Join the Rule of Tree Team

Rule of Tree needs more voices to contribute to our community. We are always looking for new voices and perspectives, but now we want to explicitly invite you to contribute.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

SB Nation is nice enough to provide us hosting for the site, but ultimately, Rule of Tree is a fan community that thrives on participation. This fan community is run by people who are passionate about Stanford sports for people who are passionate about Stanford sports. While Jack, myself, and a handful of others work hard to bring you the latest and greatest of all things Stanford, the fact remains Rule of Tree needs more voices to contribute to our community. We are always looking for new voices and perspectives, but now we want to explicitly invite you to contribute. We are looking for exceptional Stanford men and women to join the Rule of Tree team.

Questions to Consider:

• Are you passionate about Stanford sports?
• Do you love to write/create podcasts or videos?
• Do you have a solid understanding of college sports? (If you are a regular reader of Rule of Tree then you probably do)
• Can you write good?
• Were you bothered by the previous question?

If you answered yes to these questions then you should strongly consider writing for Rule of Tree. Understand though, that this is a fan community, we do this because we love Stanford sports, and do not have the funding for paid positions.

How to get in contact with us:

If you are interested in Stanford basketball (women's and men's), football recruiting, baseball and other Stanford sports then we definitely want to hear from you. Please email Nick at nickdempsey@gmail.com or Jack at jmblanchat@gmail.com with a resume and a writing sample

Here is a little more information about applying for a contributor position with SB Nation/Rule of Tree:

"What do contributors do?

Typically, site contributors write at least twice a week on topics of their choosing, although alternative arrangements can be worked out with their site manager. Contributors may also potentially help with social media promotion, copyediting, or other site duties. See the specific job posting for details, or reach out to the site manager."

"Why should I write for SB Nation?

There are lots of reasons! If you love sports and love writing, SB Nation provides the best platform to engage with other fans and promote your work. It has the best publishing platform, a strong brand, excellent training, and an amazing team.

SB Nation alumni have gone on to work for SBNation.com, Rivals, Scout, 247Sports, SI.com, Grantland, and numerous other outlets. Many members of SB Nation's Product and Editorial teams came from team blogs, like SB Nation's Managing Editor, Brian Floyd. Others have used their experience with SB Nation to give themselves additional professional opportunities in marketing, social media, advertising, and more. If you're looking to start a media-focused career, or are just a passionate sports fan looking to advance the conversation, there isn't a better place to start than with SB Nation."

Feel free to contact us for more information or check out this from SB Nation, and consider joining our team!
