It's not even August... but you know college football is getting close when preseason polls come down the wire.
The annual Coaches' Poll released its preseason rankings today, and Stanford comes in at number 21.
The Cardinal are one of 6 Pac-12 teams to be ranked, and the Cardinal comes in behind Oregon, USC, UCLA and Arizona State. Arizona is ranked right behind Stanford at #22. Oregon ranks fifth while USC stands at tenth.
Ohio State naturally comes in at #1, with 62 of 64 first-place votes. Meanwhile, the SEC places 8 teams in the top 25 of the coaches poll, including three in the top 10.
