As the high school season moves rapidly toward its regular season conclusion, each game becomes bigger than the last. Take a look at how your future Cardinal did this week.
2017 Commits
QB Davis Mills - Greater Atlanta Christian School (Norcross, Ga.)
Mills only needed ten pass attempts, completing seven for 151 yards and two scores, to secure GAC's 49-21 victory. The Spartans' field general has yet to throw an interception this year, so here's to hoping that streak continues. He also added a two-yard scoring scamper in the win.
TE/DE Colby Parkinson - Oaks Christian HS (Westlake Village, Calif.)
Parkinson and the Lions had a bye week before preparing to host Camarillo HS this Friday.
WR Osiris St. Brown - Mater Dei HS (Anaheim, Calif.)
St. Brown turned in an epic performance with a career-high 11 catches for 149 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-14 thumping of Orange Lutheran HS. That brings OSB's season totals to 29 catches, 647 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns for the Monarchs' leading receiver. What a stud, right?
DB Stuart Head - Etowah HS (Woodstock, GA)
Etowah had a bye week before a matchup with Roswell HS on Friday.
RB Sione Heimuli-Lund - Brighton HS (Salt Lake City, UT)
Lund reprised his role as the bell-cow back with 198 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 12 carries while also snagging one pass for eight yards. Brighton rolled in its second victory of the year, defeating Copper Hills HS, 35-6.
Sidenote: As you can probably guess by his season production, Lund leads the region in rushing and is fourth in total touchdowns with 14, heading into what will be the Bengals' final game of the year this week
TE Tucker Fisk - Davis Senior HS (Davis, Calif.)
Fisk finished the victory with two catches for 13 yards and also rushed four times for 11 yards. His nine-yard reception helped Davis keep their game-winning drive alive in the Blue Devils' 26-21 win over the Franklin Wildcats. The win secured Davis' first winning streak of the season.
OL/DL Drew Dalman - Palma HS (Salinas, Calif.)
Drew registered a single sack in Palma's 35-0 shellacking of Monte Vista Christian HS on the road. Palma's rushing attack ran rampant on MVC for 390 yards, Running back Emilio Martinez, who himself rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns, gave most of the credit to the "nasty play" of Dalman and the boys in trenches. The win was the Chieftains' fifth straight this season.
2018 Commits
QB Jack West - Saraland HS (Saraland, AL)
Saraland was blindsided on national television (game televised last Thursday on ESPN2) by a terrific Spanish Fort team, whose stingy defense had West running for his life all night long. However, amidst the chaos, the junior QB hooked up with sophomore wideout Jakyrus Williams for a 15-yard touchdown (the only Saraland points of the game) as the Spartans fell to the Toros, 33-7.
