The NFL Draft Sets Up to be a Historic Night for Stanford

The NFL Draft begins today. Can Stanford break a record?

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Today is the first day of the NFL Draft, and we celebrate it in this edition of Cardinal CounTree. Matt Vassar opens the show talking about how there's a real possibility that Stanford might just break a record for most players drafted to the NFL. Then, he tells the story of Blake Martinez, and tells both where his hard work ethic came from, as well as how it's led him to the precipice of achieving his dream of playing in the NFL. He also covers a bit of basketball news, and talks about who Jerod Haase hired as his assistants. Is Haase repeating a Johnny Dawkins mistake by hiring nobody with a Stanford background? Finally, he finishes up the show talking about the most recent antics of Richard Sherman, and how he picked up people in his car while disguising himself as a Lyft driver named "Richie."
