The four-star running back was a long time Stanford commit

The Stanford Cardinal has been on Sione Heimuli-Lund’s mind for quite some time; he committed over a year ago on November 27, 2015. Lund was the very first commit for Stanford’s talented 2017 class, and he’ll be a great addition for Stanford in the near future.

Standing at 6’1” and weighing 237 pounds, Lund uses force to run through defenders, which is something Stanford has not seen since Tyler Gaffney, but despite his size, Lund can still pick up speed on the outside and dodge defenders. As a senior, the Cardinal signee ran for 1250 yards and twelve touchdowns at Brighton High School in Utah, and he topped 1000 yards rushing in his junior season as well. With two strong high school campaigns, Lund earned a four star ranking on multiple scouting websites and is considered one of the best players in Utah.

With Lund’s signing, Stanford continues a trend that has established themselves as a major recruiting force in Utah. Last year, Stanford convinced Lund’s teammate and Utah’s top ranked player, Simi Fehoko, to sign with the Cardinal. This year, Stanford has also have a commitment from Levani Damuni and (are competing for) Chaz Ah You. This summer, Lund will not be the only Utah native arriving on campus.

When Lund gets the opportunity to run the ball as a Cardinal, he’ll be extremely happy with his line and should put up incredible numbers. Two five star offensive lineman will join Lund at Stanford. How much could a running back ask for?

Welcome to the Farm, Sione.
