The Stanford Cardinal will be traveling to and staying in the northwest of the country for their last two games of the 2020 Pac-12 football season.

As announced by the athletic department, the Cardinal are packing their bags for the rest of 2020 and headed to Seattle early to prepare for their Week 5 matchup against the Washington Huskies. They will then travel to Corvallis and prepare for, and play at Oregon State.

This, of course, comes due to the executive order signed by Santa Clara County that prohibited contact sports until at the earliest December 21.

The messaging came across as such:

In light of the Santa Clara County Public Health Department’s emergency directive issued on Nov. 28, the Stanford football program will travel today to Seattle, Wash., to prepare for its game against Washington on Dec. 5.

The following week, Stanford plans to travel to Corvallis, Ore., to prepare for its Dec. 12 game against Oregon State, which has been moved from Stanford, Calif. to Corvallis, Ore.

Additional updates will be provided as they become available.

So there we have it, the answer that we all thought was going to happen for the rest of the season, it just became official.

If anything else comes to light about the basketball programs, you can be sure we’ll bring it here as well.
