For all the people who never gave up hope and for all the people who refused to believe that the franchise would continue to fade into nothing, this one is for you.
On Tuesday, EA Sports officially announced that they will be rebooting their long-missed franchise of NCAA Football games that has been on hiatus since the 2013 season with the last installment of the series being NCAA Football 14.
For those keeping track at home, it’s been almost eight years since folks were able to pop in a new edition of the cult-favorite video game.
If you’re anything like me, this news likely sent you over the moon.
If you’ve been missing the opportunity to play as your Stanford Cardinal, the chance to do just that once again will be here before you know it. While it’s likely nothing will be released in this current year, the hope is that 2022 or 2023 will be the year the franchise returns.
So get your customization skills ready if you plan on playing with the likes of current and former Cardinal that didn’t get the chance to appear in the games from 2014-2020, like running backs Christian McCaffrey and Bryce Love, wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, tight ends Austin Hooper and Dalton Schultz, and defensive stalwarts Soloman Thomas, Justin Reid, and Harrison Phillips.
