Bill Connelly Gives His Take on Where Stanford Is in the Pecking Order

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

Bill Connelly, the director of analytics at SB Nation and inventor of the S&P statistical model, joins host Matt Vassar on this episode of Cardinal CounTree. We talk a bit about how Stanford's offense is currently ranked even better than Oregon's, and what the pecking order is in the Pac-12. We also talk about why S&P isn't as high on Utah as some other projections. Matt also talks a bit about Stanford's upcoming game against reigning Pac-12 South champion, Arizona, and how Arizona has made a rapid ascension under current head coach, Rich Rodriguez. He also covers key injuries from both Arizona and Stanford, and comments on how they might affect the game.

This was interesting

Thanks. Always good to hear his views, given his knowledge.

I did take a peek at the Cardinal Sports Radio site — the homepage should be edited a bit (currently says "LISTEN TO THE BEST STANFORD CARDINALS SPORTS RADIO & PODCASTS"). Just a heads up.

Thanks again, Brendan!

I asked around and was able to get the typo you noted off to the development team; it got fixed from there. Thanks again for pointing this out!

Yes, I love Bill!

Bill’s always insightful.

Thanks also for pointing out the error in the website. Truth be told, I have no idea who’s responsible for the website, but I’ll make some inquiries to find out who controls and can fix it.

Good discussion!

One of the best college football writers around.
