Welcome to Rule of Tree, your newest—and, in due time, greatest—source for Stanford sports news and opinions from the fan's perspective. Please jump in, join the conversation, and check back often. And don't worry, kids, the Stanford Axe-wielding Tree won't bite.
This site will be many things, including a place to sound off and interact with other Cardinal fans about any and all Stanford sports. While the focus will be primarily on football, men's and women's basketball, and baseball, Rule of Tree will occasionally dabble in the other sports that have helped make Stanford the permanent home of the Directors’ Cup for almost two decades. One of the best parts of this site, and the entire SB Nation network, is that fans like you will guide the conversation. Sign up for an account to start posting FanShots and FanPosts today.

I am so sorry for you and your sanity that you decided to do this. I am happy you did though.
You see, we Pac-10 fans have been without a Stanford blog for a long, long time. This means most of us have had regional rival blogs where we can go and sling dirt at each other for years and years. California Golden Blogs have had nobody. So during this time, they have gone on the brink of insanity because they’ve had no rivalry outlet.
Imagine a Koala Bear that has quietly lived in a herd of lions. Its normal diet of eucalyptus leafs would be abandoned, and they would be nibbling on a gazelle carcass for its nourishment. CGB has been that Koala Bear, and now you’re the eucalyptus leaf. The only way they know that they can eat you, is to cover you in gazelle blood. It is going to be weird, but that’s the nature of the situation.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns - it is entirely normal. The best thing to do is to not make any sudden movements or loud noises.
