Multiple sources are reporting that Stanford defensive end Aziz Shittu was injured in practice and will likely miss significant time. Coach Shaw did not disclose the nature of the injury and is not willing to discuss a timeframe for Shittu's return.
While this is certainly a loss for the team, Stanford's defensive front has plenty of depth and have been playing amazingly all year. Senior Blake Lueders who was splitting time with Shittu and is expected to gain more playing time. The Cardinal may also rotate in other players as well.
Rule of Tree and the rest of Stanford nation wishes Aziz a speedy recovery.
As note earlier, Wide Receiver Devon Cajuste will also miss the Arizona State game due to injury.
