A day after an impressive victory against the Pac-12's best defense, Stanford notches it's 18th commit for the 2016 class (which leaves only 7 spots available). Now Stanford is ranked at eighth in 247Sports' recruiting rankings.

McNitzky is from San Antonio, Texas and he will be the 4th commit from Texas this season, which is impressive since there are so many talented schools within the state. McNitzky attends MacArthur High School which was the home for former Texas Tech tight end and current New York Jets tight end, Jace Amaro. McNitzky is a just a 2-star athlete, but he ranks as the number 4 long snapper in the country per 247sports. He also had offers from Air Force, Army, and New Mexico. McNitzky must be something special because Stanford doesn't really give out scholarships to long snappers.

I got the chance to talk to Richard after he announced his commitment and he said that Stanford is:

"the full package, [with] unmatched academics, a top 10 football team, and a veteran coaching staff".

He also elaborated on what he is looking forward to next season:

"I look forward to contributing in Stanford's success as the program continues to do great things."

Looking at the Stanford's roster right now, the starting long snapper will graduate this spring. That being said McNitzky has the chance to come in and make a real impact to the special teams. He will also be the backup short snapper to current sophomore CJ Keller. Stanford is getting a talented player with the potential to start right away, and McNitzky will be ready
